Calcined petroleum coke (CPC) is a dense carbon with high conductivity and very low electrical resistivity. CPC fixed carbon is about 99.5%. Volatile content <0.5%. The sulfur content varies depending on the crude oil used to make green petroleum coke, ranging from 0.5-3.0%.
Calcined Petroleum Coke producing process:
Green petroleum coke is a by-product of the oil refining process. After extraction, green petroleum coke should be calcined. The calcination is carried out in a rotary kiln and the temperature reaches 1600oC.
Calcined petroleum coke application:
1. Steel foundry: carburizing agent/graphite electrode/refractory
2. Industry areas: brake pads/sealing rings/friction plates/heat exchangers/lubricity
3. Battery production: Alkaline battery positive electrode/Lithium ion battery positive electrode
4. Metallurgy: glass production casting/graphite crucible/aluminum, anode for titanium smelting industry
5. Others: glass plate / pencil lead / clay brick / conductive paint
